Our story so far.
ROfilmNL grew from a lifelong love for cinema and cultural exchange. Before moving to the Netherlands, Alma worked in several cinemas in Bucharest and within RADEF, the Romanian state film distribution institution, where she served as a consultant. At Make a Point, a cultural center, she curated and organized weekly film screenings and debates that created a space for dialogue and community around film.
After relocating to the Netherlands, this passion evolved into sharing Romanian films abroad and connecting both Romanians and international audiences with the stories, voices, and creativity of Romanian cinema. Along the way, a team of people who share the same enthusiasm for film and the desire to bring these stories to wider audiences joined the project.
