Being Romanian. A Family Journal
A candid glimpse into the lives, identities and everyday realities of Romanians finding their place far from home.
About the film
Being Romanian. A Family Journal looks at what it means to carry a country inside you while building a life elsewhere. Through intimate conversations and observational moments, the film follows Romanian families between home and abroad — the phone calls, the kitchen tables, the old photographs, the children who speak a different language than their grandparents.
It's a portrait of identity as something lived day to day rather than declared — made of small rituals, long pauses and the particular weight of a language only some of you still speak.
